About Tara:
Tara is a legendary sailing ship designed by French scientist and explorer Jean-Louis Etienne. In 2003, agnès and Etienne Bourgois acquired the vessel after the tragic death of renowned sailor Sir Peter Blake during his Amazon River expedition. To continue the work of its previous owners, the Bourgois family transformed Tara into a symbol of ocean protection.
Initially built for scientific research in the Arctic and Antarctic regions, Tara is now dedicated to marine exploration. Supported by a passionate and skilled team on land and at sea, the ship continues its mission to advance marine science and share knowledge with the world.
