Best known as a filmmaker, Jim Jarmusch is also a writer, musician, and

visual artist. He has notably produced hundreds of collage artworks. He says, "For my collages, I only use newspapers for their sources, and

most of them only involve removing and/or replacing heads or faces. I remember, as a child, I received a microscope for my birthday. I first examined a tiny piece of torn newspaper through its lenses. I was stunned. Instead of a single, solid leaf, it was a tangled mass of threadlike fibers, a chaotic jungle of microscopic pulp. Since then, the fragility and inherently temporary nature of this particular (now almost obsolete) material has appealed to me." 

Jim Jarmusch is a longtime friend of agnès b. She notably designed a western-inspired tuxedo for him during the presentation of his film Broken Flowers at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.
