"Temporary" by Everything Is Recorded on XL Recordings

Temporary will be released on 28th February 2025 via XL Recordings and features an incredible list of collaborators including Sampha, Bill Callahan, Noah Cyrus, Florence Welch, Maddy Prior, Berwyn, Alabaster Deplume, Jah Wobble, Yazz Ahmed, Laura Groves, Kamasi Washington, Rickey Washington, Roses Gabor, Jack Peňate, Samantha Morton, Clari Freeman-Taylor and Nourished By Time.

Created over four years, from 2020 to 2024, Temporary was recorded primarily at Russell’s Copper House studio in West London, as well as sessions in Tottenham, Cumbria, Dorset, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and follows in the footsteps of previous acclaimed albums, including 2018’s self-titled Mercury Prize-nominated debut. On Temporary, Russell redefines his musical DNA: whereas his music previously revolved around rhythm, words, and melody in that order, on Temporary he swaps rhythm and melody, with rhythm taking less of a back seat and melody taking center stage. Musically, the songs are inspired by a sonic thought experiment: “What if folk music had gone digital in the ’80s, just like reggae?” The result, carried by an intriguing and diverse ensemble of collaborators who sound like the best, freshest versions of themselves, is the brightest, most relaxed composition of Russell’s career.

John Glacier's debut album ‘Like a Ribbon’ on Young

After years of garnering acclaim across the underground and mainstream for a singular, boundary-pushing stream of consciousness sound, London based rapper, producer and poet John Glacier’s debut album, Like A Ribbon, will finally be released via Young (The xx/FKA twigs/Sampha etc.) on February 14th 2025. A dreamlike portrayal of the journey from a simple existence growing up in Hackney, to projecting stories to the world while aiming to maintain a semblance of normalcy in what is a very extraordinary life, Like A Ribbon fuses rap, electronic music, post-punk and so much more across 11 wildly diverse tracks, already spawning singles ‘Money Shows’ (ft. Eartheater), ‘Steady As I Am’, ‘Cows Come Home’, and ‘Found’. Today sees the final taste of the album’s eclectic fusion of sounds before its release in the form of new single ‘Ocean Stepping’, which features forward-thinking soul luminary Sampha.
