Chris Imler is a drummer, singer, songwriter, and composer. He first gained attention in the late 1990s as the drummer for the cult Berlin band Golden Showers. Since then, he has collaborated extensively with artists and groups such as Peaches, Puppetmastaz, Soffy O, Jens Friebe, and Oum Shatt. With Patric Catani, he also founded the project Driver & Driver.

An incredibly addictive debut release from a mysterious new artist we know almost nothing about. OFF DAY reached out to us with a cryptic message on Instagram, and we were instantly hooked on his genre-bending, ear-pleasing EP. Nothing about it is standard—not the artist’s communication, the 20-minute mixtape-style format, or the surprising juxtaposition of genres (Drum & Bass, Jersey Club, Hip-Hop, Techno...).

Cinematic & enigmatic, 'Ambientale' is a stranger you've only just met but can't stop thinking about.

Described as 'the best album the Pixies never made', Frank Black's Teenager of The Year is being re-released on gold vinyl to mark its 30th anniversary. Pitchfork named it one of the 100 best albums of the '90s. The album is also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, while The Quietus said in 2014: "'Teenager Of The Year' feels like a lost Pixies album in the same way that 'Ram' feels like a lost Beatles album. KOMPROMAT is the alliance of Vitalic and Rebeka Warrior (Sexy Sushi, Mansfield.TYA). Their first album Traum und Existenz, released in 2019 on Clivage Music (Vitalic's label), laid the foundations for a dark and hard-hitting universe. In January 2025, they returned with PLДYING / PRДYING on Warriorecords, a label founded by Rebeka Warrior. This new album explores themes such as prayer (pagan or not), funeral rites, passages between different worlds, but also the pleasures of the flesh, dance, and ecstasy - like a divine invocation through music.

Area Silenzio is eat-girls' debut record and it is both haunted and haunting. For the past four years, the French trio have been crafting their songs into little self-contained worlds with the patience of entomologists, taking them out all over the country and Europe to confront them with the wilderness of a live audience. The ten resulting tracks are a collection of electronic madrigals, groove driven songs played on a mischievous multi-speed Victrola, ranging from languid dub drips to full-on drum machine cavalcades.

Wewantsounds is delighted to announce the release of one of Japan's most coveted albums of the 70s, "Mangekyou" by singer-songwriter Yoshiko Sai. Produced in 1975 by Master musician Yuji Ohno, the album features Yoshiko Sai's superbly crafted songs and crystal clear voice over Ohno's lush, funky sound and breezy arrangements. A strong buzz has been growing around the album over the years and original copies now change hands for large sums of money. This is the first time "Mangekyou" is available outside of Japan, featuring remastered audio, original artwork and a 4 page insert including new liner notes by Paul Bowler.

In keeping with Kim Deal meticulous approach to all her projects, the album was honed over several years. Originally from La Hague near Cherbourg and based in Rennes for 7 years, Héron Cendré shapes a poetic world where modular synth sounds, field recordings gleaned from schools and other minimalist lo-fi oddities blend together. The album 3-4 is the perfect illustration of this. It is "a feat of purity, minimal, chaotic, sacred, cosmic, tender, all at once and more, between film music and spatial signal, a new language all by itself" (Gonzaï). Among his influences, we can cite Terry Riley, Philippe Glass, Hiroshi Yoshimura as well as François de Roubaix, Jean-Jacques Perrey or Pierre Bastien.

Jose Guerrero aka Telomante lives in Valencia and runs the Mascarpone Discos label. A prolific producer, he multiplies projects such as Sentuhlà on Abstrakce Records or Rastrejo on his own label. Codantera is a contemplative stroll through soundscapes that leave plenty of room for improvisation where harmonic fields and abrupt experimentations intersect on the same plane. The warmth of the sound and the strength that emanates from it make this album a gem of minimalist electronic music.

Naomie Klaus is a young artist from Marseille based in Brussels.
