Noble Leathers: The timeless qualities of Lambskin and Cowhide
Most of the leather used at agnès b. products is crafted from lambskin and cowhide, two premium materials known for their distinct qualities.
Lambskin
Lambskin is prized for its softness and luxurious feel, offering a supple, lightweight texture that enhances the elegance of each piece.
Cowhide
On the other hand, is valued for its strength and durability, making it ideal for creating long-lasting leather goods.
These carefully selected leathers allow us to strike the perfect balance between comfort, durability, and timeless style.
FairlyMade and agnès b.
With a commitment to openness, we’ve partnered with Fairly Made to thoroughly assess our supply chain. You can now discover detailed information about the origins, production, and environmental impact of our products.
For some of our leather goods, this detailed traceability even extends to the farms where the animals were raised. This allows us to offer you a deeper understanding of each product’s journey—from the raw materials to the final creation—ensuring that our processes are as ethical and responsible as possible.
Vegetable tanning
agnès b. incorporates vegetable tanning in the creation of select leather goods, embracing a more natural process.
Our dyes are metal-free, ensuring a safer and more environmentally-friendly finish. The final touch is achieved through a mixture of wax and pigments, giving the leather its distinct look and feel. The supple texture is a result of applying natural oils, followed by a mechanical process known as dry fulling, which enhances the leather’s softness.
The result is a collection of leather pieces that are not only durable but also crafted with respect for both craftsmanship and the environment.
Some leather garments are made from unvarnished skins to keep its softness and natural aspect.
To clean leather, quickly apply a clay-based stain remover called ‘Terre de Sommières’, which can be used to absorb grease stains (except indelible ink stains), but seek professional advice. Never use aggressive products designed for shoes and furniture.Every month, nourish with appropriate lotions or creams.
Even if the quality of the leather does not change, certain irregularities may appear, due to the natural aesthetic of the leather.
